Musk has started looking for AI developers and plans to set up a new research lab. It should develop an alternative to ChatGPT from OpenAI, report MASS MEDIA.
In 2015, the head of Tesla co-founded OpenAI and joined the board of directors. But in 2018, the businessman left this position.
Insiders report that Musk is hiring talented developer Igor Babushkin, who led DeepMind, the AI division of Alphabet (Google), to join his staff. Now Babushkin and Elon are discussing the creation of a new project, but negotiations are still at an early stage. Officially, the developer has not confirmed his participation in Elon Musk’s project.
The millionaire himself interestingly describes his opinion about ChatGPT. He called it “terribly good”. And I am sure that “we are not far from dangerously strong AI”:
At the same time, Musk criticizes the program for censorship and political orientation. He proposed his version of the “honest chat bot” TruthGPT.
ChatGPT has revolutionized the technology world. Created by OpenAI and backed by Microsoft, it has started a new war between tech companies for leadership in artificial intelligence. Now Google and a number of other tech giants have begun preparing their competitor for the chatbot. And China will introduce its analogue of ChatGPT in March of this year.
