During a campaign speech in Portsmouth, US presidential candidate Donald Trump vowed that he would never allow Fed launch a national digital currency (CBDC). This is reported by The Post Millennial.
Trump noted the risksdebanking and the emergence of political weapons” that will accompany the implementation of CBDC.
“As your president, I will never allow the creation of a central bank digital currency. Such an asset would give the federal government absolute control over your money. This would be a dangerous threat to freedom – I will not allow this to happen in America,” said the former US President.
A few days ago, another Republican candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.
This entire campaign is about speaking the TRUTH. We did not achieve our goal tonight & we need an America-First patriot in the White House. The people spoke loud & clear about who they want. Tonight I am suspending my campaign and endorsing Donald J. Trump and will do everything…

“The people said loud and clear who they want,” the politician wrote.
He suspended the campaign after Trump won the popular vote in the Iowa caucus. The ex-president was also supported by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.
Ramaswamy is also a supporter of crypto assets, but an opponent of CBDC. Over the past year, the now former US presidential candidate has won support from major market players, including Messari CEO Ryan Selkis.
“Vivek is now the most powerful libertarian in the country. And he is a supporter of cryptocurrencies. Trump knows he's a valuable asset.” wrote Selkis.
Previously, Ramaswamy criticized the regulation of the crypto industry in the United States. In November 2023, he introduced the Three Freedoms of Crypto, which “guarantees a bright future for digital assets and economic freedom for Americans.”
Let us remember that another participant in the election race, Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., promised to protect Bitcoin. According to him, freedom of transactions is as important as freedom of speech.
Kennedy has repeatedly criticized the central bank's digital currency and also purchased 14 BTC for his children as an investment.
