- In March, he tried to leave the country with forged documents.
- Now he has been sentenced to 4 months in prison.
- Together with Kwon, the court found Han Chang-jun guilty
Founder of Terraform Labs, Do Kwon, recognized guilty in the case of forged documents. Now the scandalous crypto businessman will have to serve 4 months behind bars. However, there is a nuance, this also includes the time he spent in custody from March 23 to June 15. Thus, the actual time of his stay in prison could be approximately one month.
Han Chang Joon, Terraform’s former CFO, was sentenced to the same as Kwon, though the latter maintained that only he was guilty and he alone should be held responsible. Both were detained in March at the airport when they tried to leave the country using fake passports. They will be able to appeal within eight days of receiving a copy of the judgment.
On June 16, the co-founder of Terra stated that he did not know about the fake passport and issued documents on the recommendation. Kwon noted that he received the papers through an agency that a friend recommended to him.
Despite the decision of the court of first instance in Podgorica, the question of whether the country’s authorities will deport Kwon to South Korea or the United States remains unresolved.
