Cryplogger AI collected the most important news from the world of AI over the past week.
- The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine asked Meta to improve the quality of content moderation on Facebook and Instagram.
- The US Navy introduced an autonomous minesweeper.
- Experts called for the standardization of ADAS technologies.
- Megogo has used AI to voice foreign content.
- ByteDance has filed a trademark application for TikTok Music.
- Google AI has turned BAYC’s NFT collection into abstract paintings.
- Enthusiast taught AI to detect hunger in a baby.
- The most important transactions in the field of AI.
The Ministry of Digital Development of Ukraine turned to Meta with a request to improve the quality of content moderation on Facebook and Instagram.
In an open letter, the agency called on the tech giant to stop hiding the publications of local activists, bloggers and volunteers, as well as blocking their accounts. In addition, the Ministry of Digital Transformation asked Meta to share a list of rules for moderating the Ukrainian region.
The US military introduced an autonomous minesweeper
US Navy showed unmanned ship UISS for sweeping underwater mines. According to the military, the ship has reached initial operational capacity.

The self-propelled semi-autonomous minesweeper is equipped with a diesel drive with a maximum range of 140 km and can operate at sea for 20 hours. The ship is capable of towing about 1800 kg of cargo at a speed of 20 knots.
The UISS is equipped with sonar, non-lethal weapons, mine clearance systems, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance sensors. The system is capable of simultaneously detecting, localizing and classifying various underwater munitions.
According to the Navy, the military will use the minesweeper to clear sea lanes, fleet areas of operations, straits, choke points and landing areas.
UK uses AI to detect traffic offenders
UK Police launched roadside van testing for
detection of violations by drivers.
The system uses cameras to monitor passing vehicles. The AI algorithm analyzes the received data and detects the driver using a mobile phone while driving or not wearing a seat belt.
The testing of the van will last three months. In future trials, the system may be supplemented with other crime detection technologies.
Experts called for standardization of ADAS functions
Automotive Safety Experts Coalition released a set of recommendations for using the same names for ADAS functions.
Consumer Reports, AAA, JD Power, National Safety Board, PAVE and SAE International focused on six categories:
- collision warning (Collision Warning);
- collision prevention (Collision Intervention);
- assistance in driving a car (Driving Control Assistance);
- parking assistance (Parking Assistance);
- driver monitoring (Driver Monitoring);
- other driver assistance systems (other Driver Assistance Systems).
The coalition believes that the terminology used by automakers can confuse consumers and make it difficult to understand the essence of functions. Establishing a common ADAS language will show drivers that the system helps them, not replaces them, the experts added.
Megogo uses AI to translate video content
Megogo streaming service launched testing an AI system for voicing video content. The technology was developed jointly with the Swiss-Ukrainian company Vidby.
The system recognizes the speech language in the video and converts it into text, which is edited if necessary. Then the AI algorithm translates the material and voices it in Ukrainian, Romanian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Kazakh, Uzbek or Estonian.
ByteDance has filed a trademark application for TikTok Music
In May 2022, ByteDance filed an application for registration of the TikTok Music service with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
According to the document, users will be able to buy, play, share and download music through the application. The service will allow you to create, send and recommend playlists, comment on tracks, and broadcast audio and video live.
Similar ByteDance applications filed in Australia, UK, Singapore, New Zealand, Mexico, Malaysia and Costa Rica.
Xiaomi introduced AR glasses
Xiaomi company introduced Mijia Glasses Camera AR glasses. The gadget can record 100 minutes of video and run applications like a caption translator in real time.

The headset is equipped with a Micro OLED display from Sony, a main 50 megapixel camera and an 8 megapixel periscope module with an image stabilization system, five times optical and 15 times digital zoom.
The gadget is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The amount of RAM of the device is 3 GB, built-in – 32 GB.
On August 3, 2022, Xiaomi will launch a crowdfunding campaign to organize the release of Mijia Glasses Camera, where those who wish can buy a headset for $370. Later the price will increase to $400.
Google AI turns BAYC NFT collection into abstract paintings
Google AI team with AI turned 10,000 images from The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection into abstract paintings by Artsy Monke.
The researchers used the tokens as a “free canvas for generative art” and trained AI to draw in 20 different styles. To do this, they used several servers.
As a result, the algorithm generated images that look like monkeys. Some paintings have whole micro-worlds, while others are mixed collages of futuristic elements, Google AI noted.
AI showed the “last selfie on Earth”
With the help of AI, the enthusiast showed “the last selfies on Earth”, “animals that have not yet been discovered” and “what mutant people look like”.

A TikTok user posted a series of videos with images generated by the DALL-E 2 and Midjorney neural networks for the corresponding text queries.
Enthusiast taught AI to detect hunger in a baby
An engineer trained an AI to detect hunger in a newborn baby before the baby cries. According to him, the system works with 100% accuracy.
The programmer used the Google MediaPipe framework to track a live feed from a camera above the cradle and detect specific baby movements. The system recognizes lip smacking, pacifier rejection, head shaking, and fists raised to the mouth.
The developer assigned each movement an “importance” rating. When a certain score is reached, a notification is sent to his smartphone about the need for feeding.
