- Users will be rewarded for completing tasks online
- Mainnet launch expected in the coming months
Layer 2 network Linea Launches an NFT loyalty campaign that aims to increase activity on its testnet. The company said in a statement that users will receive rewards for completing certain tasks.
The purpose of the program is to help increase the load on the network and test the activity at scale before the launch of the mainnet network.
Week 1 challenges will involve bridging protocols built on Linea’s testnet, including Hop Protocol, Celer Network, Multichain, and Connext.
Previously, similar campaigns were carried out by other layer-2 networks, for example: Arbitrum, Optimism and Polygon. They used the Galxe loyalty platform, which will also be used by Linea.
Typically, such programs led to a significant increase in activity on test networks, sometimes even causing congestion. Arbitrum’s Odyssey campaign can be singled out, it even led to the fact that the commissions were temporarily higher than in Ethereum.
As the experience of past networks shows, the loyalty program can become a target for abusers. They only use the network in hopes of getting an airdrop.
