The largest US bitcoin exchange Coinbase will test giving employees four “weeks of recharge” in 2022. The solution is designed to compensate for the “intense work environment” stated in company.

“For most of us, Coinbase is the most stressful place we’ve ever worked. At the moment in the crypto industry, this intensity is only increasing, which often leads to long working days and weeks, “- wrote in a blog, HR Director LJ Brock.

The experiment will allow workers in 2022 to “recharge” one week approximately once a quarter. At this time, the company will practically stop working, only the specialists of the services operating 24/7 will remain.

In theory, this time should be in addition to holidays. However, Brock noted that the company encourages employees to plan for a combination of leisure time.

According to him, the step taken is intended to ensure the sustainability of growth rates in the long term.

Brock emphasized that the company takes a flexible approach to organizing the work of its employees, allowing them to work in the office, remotely or in a mixed mode. Coinbase also offers the option of taking vacations throughout the year, but for whatever reason, workers are not using it, he added.

The company has already conducted a “recharge week” in 2020 and two at the end of 2021. The survey showed that 52% of employees this solution allowed them to fully relax, said the HR director.

Recall that Coinbase entered the Nasdaq exchange in April 2021 through a direct listing of shares. As of the end of the year, the company’s shares rose in price by less than 1%.
