The Coinbase Cloud Web3 Developer Center has added a set of tools to support development on the Avalanche blockchain and smart contract platform.
As part of its new support features, Coinbase Cloud is launching the Avalanche Public Verification Node (AVAX). This allows members of the Avalanche network to list their AVAX tokens on Coinbase Cloud and delegate authority to verify transactions on the blockchain.

Compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) allows the network to benefit from the security of the Ethereum (ETH) network. Tokens on EVM-compatible chains can also be easily connected to each other.
There is also an AVAX integration with Coinbase Wallet, a native Web3-enabled digital asset wallet. It will also provide developers with the documentation they need to deploy applications on the Avalanche network. Coinbase Wallet added support for Solana (SOL) last week.
Coinbase Cloud will improve the query and transaction feature for its users. This feature makes it easier for developers to find, interact with, and learn the pieces of code that make up the Avalanche network. Coinbase Cloud believes that by providing this access, developers can “customize who can access the node infrastructure and distribute their nodes across four geographic regions and two cloud providers” with limited downtime.
Coinbase Cloud is a Web3 developer support platform from the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, launched in October last year.
In addition to Coinbase Cloud’s latest contributions to the AVAX ecosystem, Avalanche has also begun rolling out support for the Bitcoin (BTC) network through the Avalanche Bridge. Full support is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
DeFi on Avalanche is about to get a lot more orange.
This will allow BTC holders to transfer their coins to the Avalanche network and participate in decentralized finance (DeFi) activities there.
Avalanche co-founder and COO Kevin Secnicki summed up BTC’s integration with Avalanche in a March 23 tweet, stating that “DeFi on Avalanche is about to get a lot more orange.”

This new integration comes in conjunction with the Avalanche Summit in Barcelona, Spain, where, in addition to the Coinbase and Bitcoin wallet integration, the Terra (LUNA) team also announced that its UST stablecoin is now tradable on Avalanche. All three of this week’s innovations will greatly benefit the Avalanche ecosystem over time through investment and new applications.
According to CoinGecko, AVAX has dropped 3% in the past 24 hours and is currently down 42.3% from its November 21, 2021 all-time high of $145.
