The regulator has come to the attention of content creation methods that evoke emotions in the audience in order to attract attention and traffic for “unseemly purposes”. The administration mentioned virtual AI hosts, fake studio scenes, fake news accounts, and misrepresentation of real stories.
The CAC said it had already blocked 107,000 fake accounts and 835,000 pieces of false information. The regulator urged citizens to report fakes found on the network.
Earlier, Chinese police detained a man on suspicion of creating fake news about a train wreck using ChatGPT. He was accused of violating the law on media with artificial intelligence.
According to law enforcement officers, the motive for the crime was an increase in traffic.
Recall that in January, a law came into force in China prohibiting the creation of deepfakes without the permission of the subject or to the detriment of national interests.
In April, the CAC published draft rules aimed at regulating generative artificial intelligence algorithms.
That same month, Chinese tech giant Tencent unveiled a platform for creating digital people. The twin fusion process takes about 24 hours and costs $145.
