Coinbase business director Conor Grogan found a “jailbreak” in ChatGPT. He claims that with his help you can request a chatbot forecast about a particular event. In particular, the application gave a 15% chance of a scenario in which BTC will lose 99.9% of its value by 2035.
“I found an interesting jailbreak in ChatGPT which I call JAMES. He: predicts the future on absolutely any topic (including the time of death of a person); quantifies the probability of an event; can help developers in further debugging AI” – noted Grogan in his tweet.
A few predictions about cryptocurrencies
“ChatGPT is clearly sympathetic to BTC, while being much more skeptical of altcoins” Grogan says.
According to the app’s forecast, there is a 15% chance that BTC will lose 99.9% of its value by 2023 and become irrelevant (medium certainty). In the case of Ethereum, the chances of such a scenario are 20%, with LTC – 35%, with DOGE – 45% (low certainty).
Several other predictions
Also through this “loophole”, Grogan forced ChatGPT to evaluate the “veracity” of a particular statement. For example:
- Michael Jordan at his peak played better than LeBron James – 54% (rather true);
- better than Kobe Bryant – 72% (though with a high probability);
- better than Matthew Dellavedova – 98% (guaranteed true).
