- The exchange denies any allegations
- Binance representatives said that the similarity does not mean theft
The largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance was accused of plagiarism by the winner of the BNB Chain hackathon. According to the creator of NFT – Chatcasso, the platform stole tool just two months after they were awarded first place in the hackathon.
Earlier this month, CZ announced the launch of the Bicasso product, which is built to generate NFTs using artificial intelligence. But a Twitter user under the pseudonym “ggoma” said that the exchange copied the Chatcasso project and passed it off as its own.
Binance disagreed with such statements and denies any allegations. A company representative stated that Bicasso is an experimental project created by a small team at Binance.
ggoma was shocked by such actions of the company, he stated:
“A company as big as Binance copies everything, even the name? The names are so similar that it’s hard to tell them apart.”
As evidence, he presented screenshots that show the similarity:

Binance representatives responded to ggoma’s reproaches and said that similarity does not mean theft of ideas:
“We are confident that Bicasso was designed and developed more than two weeks before the hackathon. Moreover, Binance and BNB Chain work separately, and the development team does not participate in hackathons.”
This situation has reduced the credibility of participating in hackathons. ggoma hopes that Binance understands the consequences of its actions and takes steps to correct its mistakes. He also warned other developers about the possibility of plagiarism.
