- Users will be able to send private secure private messages “even in the event of an apocalypse”
- One such transaction will cost 0.006 Toncoin (TON)
TON Foundation introduced the function of encrypted messaging on the network. It allows you to conduct personal correspondence in a secure Open Network (TON) environment.
Due to end-to-end encryption, only the sender and recipient of the transaction will see the text of the message. In their press release, the TON Foundation writes that this innovation has become a welcome addition for users.
The network fee for sending encrypted messages will be approximately 0.006 Toncoin (TON) per transaction. At the current exchange rate, this is about $0.008.
Here is how TON Foundation developer Anatoly Makosov describes the importance of the new option:
“Even in the event of an apocalypse and the failure of regular messenger servers, you will retain the ability to send messages through the decentralized TON blockchain”
Recall that earlier TON users got the opportunity to personalize messages when transferring token coins or NFTs. They could add a congratulatory text or other information. However, such messages were not encrypted. Now network customers have such an opportunity.
Recently, the TON project has taken a course for active development. In April, they implemented a bridge for transfers between networks. In March, Telegram added transfers to USDT. How to use them, you can read in our brief instructions.
