Spanish cryptocurrency exchange Bit2Me announced about attraction of $15 million of investments. The funding round was led by Investcorp and with the participation of the Cardano Foundation, Yield Guild Games (YGG), Telefonica Innovation Ventures, Stratminds VC.
In a statement, the exchange said that the new capital is being used to expand operations in its native Spain, as well as distribution in Latin America.
Leif Ferreira, co-founder and CEO of Bit2Me, said:
“The funding provided will help attract new customers through Investcorp, an international partner with strong financial potential, as well as Telefónica, which will provide us with additional channels in Latin America”
The last attraction of funds was already the fourth in the history of the exchange. In total, Bit2Me managed to raise about $22 million.
The Bit2Me exchange acquired a majority stake in the Peruvian company Fluyez in July 2022. This is indicative of their expansion strategy in the markets of Chile, Colombia and Uruguay. In February this year, the company received permission from the Bank of Spain to provide services for exchanging digital currency for fiat and storing digital wallets.
