- Yesterday, the court considered the complaint of Binance US lawyers
- They won’t force the SEC to remove libel from a press release.
- According to the court, this will not affect the course of the case in any way.
United States federal judge rejected a complaint from Binance US. We are talking about the requirement to order the SEC to change the ambiguous wording of the press release. It talked about the alleged mixing of client funds and the use of offshore companies. Lawyers insisted that the agency used unproven allegations.
“The press release appears to have been designed to create unwarranted confusion in the market.”
The lawsuit was heard by District Judge of the District of Columbia Amy Berman. She decided that there was no need for the court to interfere with the text of the press release. In addition, according to Themis, the language of the SEC messages will not affect this trial in any way:
“While all lawyers must adhere to ethical standards, it is not clear that the intervention of the Court to repeat this point is necessary at this time, or that it is necessary or appropriate for the Court to intervene in the wording of the parties’ press releases. It is also unclear that the efforts of the public relations agency to date will significantly affect the proceedings in this case.
After such news, the BNB token (the native token of Binance) fell by 1.3%. But later, its rate recovered and is $ 237.77 (+ 0.64%).
Recall that Binance withdrew its application for a license in Austria yesterday. The company could not agree with the regulator on work in this country.
