- Fantom network launches dApp Gas Monetization program
- Now developers of some applications can count on 15% of the gas fee
- The initiative aims to support developers and accelerate the scaling of the ecosystem
On Sunday, May 28, Fantom co-founder Andre Cronje announced the launch of a gas monetization program in the ecosystem. The initiative aims to support developers of the most popular applications and stimulate demand for block space.
Note that the programdApp Gas Monetization» accepted back in early January. Its main goal is to redirect most of the network fees to applications as an incentive.
Developers of the most popular dApps will receive 15% of the generated gas fee. This will simultaneously support developers, attract new users and increase the value of FTM, the network’s native token.
“Gas monetization is ready. Develop, host, earn “- noted Andre Cronier.
Along with the adoption of the initiative, the FTM burn rate will slow down, from 20% to 5%. Thus, further scaling of the ecosystem falls on the shoulders of developers.
Since the program went live earlier this week, some projects have already received dividends. So, for example, the SpookySwap exchange earned 1007 FTM from gas fees, that is, about $340. Stargate Finance Gateway Bridge received 8600 FTM – $2924. However, it should also be noted that not all projects can count on such a “cashback”. More on link.
