
Cloud service provider Alibaba Cloud has announced the launch of a “blockchain lab” in Japan to create Web3 games. This is stated in press release.
According to the announcement, the hub will serve as an incubation hub where developers can interact with each other and learn about the latest technologies. The opening is scheduled for April.
The partners in the initiative are realtor Tokyu Real Estate and a company that creates VR– Skeleton Crew Studio content.
At the initial stage, the “lab” is only available to some Alibaba Cloud customers. Developers from friendly firms will provide consulting services and technical support.
“We provide a reliable, secure and high-performance cloud infrastructure, technology platforms and tools for developers in Japan to create games, metaverses and social networks based on Web3,” said Eunick Song, regional manager of Alibaba Cloud.
The company also announced the launch of a service for blockchain nodes by the end of the year.
The Immutable Platform previously partnered with Polygon to accelerate the development and deployment of Web3 games.
Recall that in March, the CCP Games team raised $40 million to create a blockchain-based game in the EVE space universe. The investment round was led by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
