Miners do not need the support of the industry, since their activities have no social significance, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, said in a conversation with “Ribbon”…
The official noted that this market sector is already making “pretty decent money”:
“Are they some kind of orphans or poor ones? Why Help Mining? Why help him? What is the purpose? What do they produce, socially significant products? “
Aksakov also said that this month the State Duma will host the first meeting of the working group dedicated to cryptocurrencies.
Recall that in November, the State Duma announced the preparation of a draft law on the regulation of mining and created a working group for discussion. Back in September, Aksakov urged to register the mining of cryptocurrencies as a type of entrepreneurship. This idea was supported by representatives of several ministries.
The Ministry of Energy said that mining does not belong to household needs, therefore, the electricity consumed for it should not be paid at a preferential tariff for the population.
In December, State Duma deputy Andrei Lugovoi threatened to jail miners for illegal connection to power grids.
